Ermeto fittings are flareless fittings used world wide for connections in fluid applications, most commonly in metric tubing  in hydraulic systems.

This kind of fitting was designed and invented by Ermeto in Germany in the early 1930s.  The Ermeto fitting essentially consists of the nut, a cutting ring and the body. When assembled, the two cutting edges of the ring carves into the outer surface of the tubing ensuring proper sealing and holding in order to be effective for high operating pressure systems. The twin cutting edges of the ring ensures double stapling on the tube.

It’s simple design and assembly, basically requiring just two wrenches to assemble, without the need to do any sort of welding, tapping or flaring and this ‘maximum simplicity’ design has made the popularity of the Ermeto fittings soar.  The tightening process of the nut, deforms the ring according to the bore of the 24 degree cone and bites into the steel tube producing deep cuts which not only ensure perfect sealing but also balances the entire ring and thus prevents vibrations.
