Air Hose

An air hose is a flexible hose usually reinforced and used to transport compressed air or gases.  Inflex Hydraulics can offer you air hoses as a straight hose or as a complete assembly including all end fittings.

Dimensions of an air hose include the inner diameter, the outer diameter and the length of the hose.  The inner diameter is important as it determines the flow of the velocity of the fluid in the hose.  An undersized inner diameter for a particular application may cause leaks, excessive pressure drops or even damage to the system whereas an oversized inner diameter in an air hose will result in a sluggish performance of the system.  Outer diameter of the hose is primarily important to decide on matching fittings to connect the bare hose to system components.  The length of the hose decides the maximum reach between the end points, hence a hose should be adequately long to reach all points of applications or points of connections, bearing in mind that increased length increases the pressure drop in the system, which in turn will affect the corresponding air driven equipment.

A good air hose system will ensure optimum performance of power tools and efficient work.  A bad hose on the other hand will cause a variety of headaches from not delivering enough air to being very cumbersome to roll or unroll.  Air hoses are made of a variety of material
including Polyeurathane, PVC material or even Hybrid (a mix of polyeurathane, PVC and rubber).  Special purpose air hoses may be made of thermoplastic material, Teflon material or even stainless steel.

Air hoses generally come in 20 bar/300 psi working pressure rating. It is available in a range of sizes starting from ¼” inner diameter onward in different lengths.
