Inflex Hydraulics manufacture and supply a wide range of stainless steel bellows assembly, pipe expansion joints, and flexible compensators to manage vibration problems and thermal growth. Our Bellows products are used across a multitude of marine and industrial applications.
These are designed to absorb extension and compression movements along the axis and are used in pipelines, ducting and exhaust systems. Inflex can supply these with welded ends, flanges or with male/female nipples.
These consists of two bellows with a central connecting pipe and are designed to absorb lateral/axial heat expansions, pressure movements and vibrations. These have applications in low pressure exhaust systems. Inflex Supplies this with welded ends or flanges.
This type of joints are designed to tolerate small inaccuracies between aggregates and other equipment of pipelines and are typically used for reducing oscillation, stress, vibrations and tension on pipelines used with pumps, compressors, motors, burners and engines. The tied bars are carried on flanges using spherical washers to absorb pressure thrust. Supplied with pipe-ends or flanges.
These joints absorb large movements in the lateral plane and operate in all directions and accommodate angular movement of flanges. Axial reaction force produced by internal pressure is also absorbed. As with the single tied type, the restraint bars are connected to the flange using spherical washers and come with pipe or flange ends. Again these are commonly used in low pressure exhaust, ducting and silencer applications.
Hinged expansion joints consists of flanges, metal bellows alongwith flanges or pipe ends with a restraint system with axis of rotation designed to absorb angular movement. These are used in combination with gimbal or other hinged joints to create a two tier or three tier system, to convert large axial movements to small amounts of angulation. Our hinged expansion joints are used on pipe lines that carry oil, condensate, water and steam.
DOUBLE HINGED EXPANSION JOINTS
These have two single hinged expansion joints connected with a central connecting pipe and welded bars with double hinge restraints. These absorb pressure thrust and axial forces resulting from the pressure. These are used to absorb large lateral movements.
Gimbal expansion joints are similar to hinged angular expansion joints, but are designed to absorb angular movement in any plane rather than single plane angulation. This joint consists of a common gimbal ring to which four hinge restraints welded on flanges are connected. Gimbal expansion joints are usually used in pairs or in combination with a single hinged expansion joint thus converting large amounts of axial movements to small amounts of angular movements.
PRESSURE BALANCED EXPANSION JOINTS
These are designed to absorb forces generated due to internal pressure and can absorb lateral and axial movements of pipeline or equipment. These are used as connections on flanges of pumps, compressors or turbines where minimal movement and force absorption is required. Consists of two bellow elements, where the bigger balancing bellows has effective area twice the size of the smaller line bellows.
These joints are recommended for mounting and demounting of valves or similar components on high pressure and larger size pipelines. These have strong anchors at the ends of straight sections and come with restrain screws which bridge the convoluted part of the expansion joint. These joints absorb the thrust force resulting from the internal pressure of the pipeline. Moreover, these joints are equipped with compression screws to enable compression of the joint, for easy fitting or removal of the attached component while installation
